Director, Syracuse Office and Tribal Courts Technical Assistance
Sarah Reckess is the Director of the Upstate New York office, headquartered in Syracuse, and is a Senior Associate on the Tribal Justice Exchange. Sarah provides planning, project design and technical assistance to problem-solving courts and justice initiatives in Upstate New York, as well as planning and technical assistance to tribal nations around the U.S. She leads a team of practitioners in Central New York who implement the Syracuse Peacemaking Project, eCORE, Parent Support Program, Defendant Services Program, Veterans Treatment Court, Take Back the Streets, Cities RISE, and Madison County MORE. Her areas of interest include treatment courts, juvenile justice, health care policy in jails, mental health diversion, police diversion, and restorative justice. Sarah graduated from Syracuse University College of Law with a concentration in Family Law and Social Policy. She is admitted to practice law in New York State.
