
Lama Hassoun Ayoub
Lama Hassoun Ayoub is a Senior Fellow at the Center for Court Innovation. She leads research studies on a wide range of topics, including schools and youth, community supervision and reentry, and tribal courts. She is currently Principal Investigator on several projects: a comprehensive mixed-methods study of a randomized controlled trial evaluating restorative practices in Brooklyn; an evaluation of a trauma-informed violence prevention program in Manhattan schools; and two studies aimed at understanding the use of risk-needs assessments and technologies in tribal courts and developing tools appropriate to those courts. Ms. Hassoun Ayoub recently completed two New York City-wide studies, having led a comprehensive study of school safety, discipline, and climate in New York City and co-led a quasi-experimental evaluation of neighborhood-oriented probation. Her past work includes a multi-site study of adult reentry courts, the multi-site evaluation of the Defending Childhood Demonstration Program, a randomized controlled trial evaluating the Harlem Parole Reentry Court and a randomized controlled trial evaluating a teen dating violence prevention program. Ms. Hassoun Ayoub focuses on building strong relationships with partners and communities in her work. She is currently pursuing a doctorate in developmental psychology from Wayne State University, and received her Master's degree in public health from Harvard University.
