Director, Operations, Policy and Research
Katie Crank is the director of operations for policy and research at the Center for Court Innovation. She co-leads the Center's work on a range of national criminal justice reform initiatives, including the MacArthur Foundation's Safety and Justice Challenge. Katie has worked with jurisdictions across the country to reduce the overuse of incarceration, implement gender-responsive programs, and improve justice system responses to both defendants and victims. Prior to her work with the Center for Court Innovation, Katie worked and volunteered with domestic violence shelters and legal aid organizations in Ghana (West Africa), Indiana, Missouri, and Illinois. She previously provided trauma-informed therapy to children and their parents through the Center for Court Innovation’s Bronx Child Trauma Support Program. Katie is an admitted attorney and a Licensed Master Social Worker in the State of New York. She earned her B.A. from Indiana University-Bloomington, and received her J.D. and M.S.W. from Washington University in St. Louis.
