Treatment Improvement Exchange, Center for Substance Abuse Treatment

The Treatment Improvement Exchange is a resource sponsored by the Division of State and Community Assistance of the Center for Substance Abuse Treatment to provide information exchange between Center staff and state and local alcohol and substance abuse agencies. The site includes funding information, publications, and a directory of state agencies.



U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and SAMHSA’s National Clearinghouse for Alcohol & Drug Information

The National Clearinghouse for Alcohol and Drug Information is a one-stop resource for information about substance abuse prevention and addiction treatment. In addition to housing a library and a wide variety of other resources, its Information Services Department responds to alcohol and substance abuse information requests via telephone, e-mail, postal mail, and fax.



Urban Institute

The Urban Institute is a nonprofit nonpartisan policy research and educational organization established to examine the social, economic, and governance problems facing the U.S. Its site provides facts and findings on a sampling of programs and topics of particular relevance to policymakers and researchers, and contains numerous publications. A section on crime and justice includes research on crime and prisoners, courts and policing, juvenile justice, and other related topics.
