The Center for Court Innovation opened its Upstate office in Syracuse, New York, in February 2004. The Upstate office concentrates primarily on training and technical assistance activities, including:

Planning Assisting with the planning, development, and implementation of problem-solving courts. In particular, the Upstate office seeks to develop stronger connections between courts and social service providers to meet the needs of victims, litigants, defendants, and the community at large.

Communication Publishing an electronic "problem-solving newsletter" that spotlights new developments in Upstate communities, lists potential funding sources, highlights research results and announces upcoming trainings.

Convening Convening roundtables with leading practitioners and scholars to stimulate discussion about controversial topics and to promote court innovation.

Training Organizing problem-solving training sessions for judges, attorneys, clerks, and others.

Hosting Site Visits Organizing site visits to show problem-solving courts in action.
